Our Parish Outreach program is a model of service that reflects the the charitable ministry of Christ.
Our purpose is to provide social and pastoral services, and to be advocates for those who are limited in power, voice and access. We provide services to anyone in need, who lives in the Westborough community, irrespective of, religion or ethnic affiliation.
Parish Outreach and its support ministries are guided by the Spiritual and Corporal works of Mercy:
We Feed the Hungry in various ways, including: our Mustard Seed Ministry who prepare, deliver and serve a meal every other month at the Mustard Seed soup kitchen. Our vibrant Meals Ministry provide a weekly meal to those who are in need of extra care. Through our Outreach office, grocery cards are given to anyone who is facing food insecurity.
We Help the Poor through our various programs including our Thanksgiving
Program and Giving Tree Program. These are made possible through the support and generosity of our parishioners. In addition, Parish Outreach is available to all those who are in need. This includes financial assistance, providing resources to those in need, fuel assistance, and scholarships to students in our ESL program. Nan Ford, our Outreach coordinator, is available to meet with any person/family who is in need of help. Please contact Nan at [email protected] for any assistance.
We Visit the Sick. We have over 50 parishioners visiting nursing home residents,
Independent/assisted living facilities, Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital, and our homebound parishioners each week. Our desire is to bring Jesus in Holy Communion to those who cannot join us for our weekly Eucharistic celebrations.
We Comfort the Sorrowful through our funeral ministry, including our Bereavement Support Group. This group provides support for those grieving over the loss of a loved one. Please contact Julie Basque at [email protected] for information. Our Martha and Mary Ministry offers options for a luncheon in our parish hall immediately following funerals.
DONATION OPPORTUNITIES
If you have items (furniture/household etc) that you would like to donate, you can call the Outreach Office and ask if we have a need for what you wish to donate. Because of limited storage space, we are not able to take items unless we have an immediate need. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding your donation.
